    In any-case, I didn’t say the “entire” bible is illogical. I said your reasons for believing in god are illogical – the reasons you essentially refuse to state, beyond “scripture”, anyway.

    When you say you believe something, yet there is no physical evidence for that something other than an old book filled with ambiguous advice on topics that humans could have easily thought of themselves…

    Do you seriously think that quote was divinely inspired?

    That’s probably true, but only because it’s such a tyrannical system. Who gets to decide what the punishment is? How do we dole out murders/rapes? If someone commits manslaughter, then what?

    How many ambiguities would this open in our legal system if it was adopted in our courts? More than a few. Not to say the courts are that superb to begin with, but killing everyone seems like such a bronze-age solution.

    “The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you.Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”

    What this verse means, essentially, is that punishments should be equivalent to the crime committed. IE, rapists should be raped, murderers should be murdered. And so on. I don’t really agree with that. It goes on to say that other people will live in fear and not do these things.

    @lipservicetechnician
    The entire verse is
    “If a malicious witness takes the stand to accuse a man of a crime, the two men involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the Lord before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time. The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against his brother, then do to him as he intended to do to his brother. You must purge the evil from among you.

    @Vire70 You mean to tell me passages like Deuteronomy 19:16-19 are illogical?

  6. Vire70

    @lipservicetechnician
    I wouldn’t understand because it doesn’t make sense. How anyone can find a 2,000 year old book, written by non-contemporary authors who we cannot verify, detailing events that are dubious at best and would require extraordinary evidence to really believe – of which there is none, is totally and utterly beyond me.

    You’re right, I can’t understand it, because it isn’t logical. It’s all emotion, that’s what it all comes down to with theism.

  7. Vire70

    @jerrod24
    Moreover, it is impossible to hate something that you honestly don’t think exists to begin with.

  8. Vire70

    @jerrod24
    Rubbish. First of all, neither I nor any atheist I know (and I know a fair few) ‘hates’ your, or any other god. What we do hate however is what the concept of god does to people. It starts wars, breeds bigotry, racism, retards education. These same people then rail against scientific progress, or try to censor opposing views, etc.

    Religions all seem to claim that they’re the “peaceful” one, but in reality all of them cause the total opposite.

  9. lipservicetechnician

    @Vire70 I do recognize that there are lots of superficial religious people who have only rhetoric to back up their claims. I have the scriptures. I would explain it to you but you dont have the capability to understand.

  10. romainelettuce2

    @Vire70 vire, i think they are not getting it, especially jerrod. I feel sorry for them honestly, cant even hold themself up in a debate against a 14 year old.

  11. romainelettuce2

    @jerrod24 “try to respond without name-calling” “you’re an idiot”
    For me to ask forgiveness you need to prove him to exist first, and you havent done that to this point.
    Here’s a good way to prove him, pray right now, and have him place the words
    ‘I AM THE ONE AND ONLY GOD’ on my screen right now, go ahead.

  12. romainelettuce2

    @jerrod24 i notice something about you, you skip answering our questions and go straight to calling us haters/ignorant, etc. Why are we wasting our time with a brainwashed drone?
    Here’s a little question im sure you will evade answering: Do you believe santa clause/fairys/dragons/unicorns exist?

  13. romainelettuce2

    we hate god? we dont believe he exists first of all, so what nonsense are you talking about?

  14. romainelettuce2

    @jerrod24 didnt this loser said he added me to his ignore?

  15. jerrod24

    Here’s an idea: try to respond without name-calling and rudeness. Ignorance isn’t becoming of anyone, let alone a godless atheist.

    By that I mean no insult. You are what you are.

  16. jerrod24

    @Vire70 That may be, but ALL OF YOU seem to hate God, not just religion. That hatred is like a brotherhood, and you congregate, hence it is its own religion.

    Your religion says that you, as men, are the most high form of intelligence in the universe. This is not unlike the 5% Nation of Islam. Atheism is more like religion than you would like to admit or even acknowledge.

  17. jerrod24

    @renzokata It’s like your parents would say, “Do as I say, not as I do.”

  18. jerrod24

    @romainelettuce2 You’re an idiot. How are you going to tell someone what they meant by what THEY said?

    Whatever your problem is, GET OVER IT. Maybe you should forgive God for whateve you think He did to you. Whatever it is, let it go. It’s O.K. let it go.

    I will feed you no more, troll. smh

  19. Vire70

    @lipservicetechnician
    And that is an incredibly weak statement when you can’t justify your own opinions on the matter. Why is it that theists always seem to come out with such resolute opinions on things that they cannot even describe their reasons for, at least generally not beyond “I feel it”

  20. lipservicetechnician

    @Vire70 Heres what I do know: god is the epitome of mercy and generosity and everyone else falls beneath him.

  21. Vire70

    @lipservicetechnician
    That is an incredibly weak character judgement. You don’t know enough about me to be able to determine whether that is the case or not.

    Based on what I see your god doing in our world though – nothing – I think it could effortlessly outdo him a hundred times over if I was omnipotent/omniscient, and so could you or anyone else.

  22. lipservicetechnician

    @Vire70 If you were in gods position you would not be as tolerant or as merciful as he is.

  23. romainelettuce2

    @jerrod24 first off all you said “go to church and keep your ignorance to yourself” based on the context i can make a clear judgement on what you ment. When i commented on your comment the first time i didnt call you any names, however i cursed in my second comment to you after you pissed me off. And yes, your still the troll.. going to an athiest page looking for fights.

  24. jerrod24

    @romainelettuce2 You fucking moron. What I meant by “your ignorance” is the name-calling or rude comments. You sir, have proven my point.

    It is you who is the troll. Maybe you would realize it if you pulled your BF’s dick out of your ass.

  25. romainelettuce2

    @Vire70 yo vire, dont bother with this one, he is a hopeless case.. modern day ignorance ftw…
