Irony is wasted on the educationly subnormal, reminds me of not casting your pearls before swine? I agree, skip one begat and it’s off to hell for you my lad !!!
Who says literacy is very recent? don’t you know about things like the Hammurabi Stele 2600 BC and Mesopatanian Cuniform which predates Moses at over 4000 BC. As for murky ambiguous prose, there have been a myriad of stories borrowed from the bible to make books, film and tv from them, so even hollywood finds the bible intriguing. Although I think they would struggle to make a film out of Leviticus :)
I made mistakes two times before and endured misery for years. But that’s the way life goes. If not for the choices I made in the past, I wouldn’t be with right girl now. I should have done it your way and saved a fortune in legal fees.
I almost got married twice before I actually did. I guess you could say I’m twice divorced but both times did it the easy way (just don’t go through with it). Right now, I’m glad I waited until the right one came along.
he makes a very good point. most people would say they were christian, just because that is their cultural base. being raised a buddhist, christian or muslim only makes you a cultural one. there is a huge difference between that and being a true disciple.
i think the idea that people pretend they are christian to avoid lynching is a ridiculous comment with no basis in reality. people prtend or even convince themselves they are christian or whatever, just to conform with the social environment
Bart pretends to be agnostic, but really he worships Sophia (wisdom) I doubt he was ever a born again Christian, he is a good example of someone who studies about the bible, rather than read it. His views have been widely refuted and proven to be in error, especially the ending of mark which has unanimous support from the early church fathers, lexicons, orders of service and manuscipt evidence.
If you want to find out for yourself, read a book on textual criticism. Dean John Burgon’s is good
(Proverbs 15:28) The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
(Proverbs 26:4) Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
@DeistPaladin stoning is a (Jewish) method of execution, the so-called Christians are absolutely confused people, they claim that Jesus was a (Jew) BUT LOL the so-called Christians added that funny quote to end the brutality of stoning and that’s a good ting any way. yes all prophets are Muslims but not those funny ones in mentioned in the so-called BibleS LOL
The (BibleS) are not the corrupted holy books of God, there’s no such thing called the corrupted book of God, the so-called BibleS are man-made myths,as Muslims we don’t recognize even one single word in the so-called BibleS, to me those books are nothing but a funny garbage, specially the so-called OT trash lol, funny how you are saying ALL SAY THE SAME,the pure Injeel and Torah are saved in the Holy Quran.just read about Jesus the fig tree LOL as well the so-called OT barley Cake with poop.LOL
There were some ways in which the Bible was changed over time. Chapter 16 if Mark contained an updated edition with an expansion on the resurrection story. Half the epistles attributed to Paul are thought by scholars to be pseud-epigraphical. Bart Ehrman has spoken on how the famous story with Jesus and the “he who is without sin cast the first stone” quote was added centuries later.
But I’d agree that the idea that the prophets were all Muslims and this message was lost is far fetched.
I might as well mention the others…
YLT, AMP, The Message, The unvarnished Gospels, ASV, LIT, GNB, LXX, NEB, JPS, NKJV, Scofield Reference, HNT, RV, NLT, BBE, Webster, Darby, German Luther, German Neue Evangelistische… darn it, I just blew my credibility! that was 24!
Are you talking about the 16th century fake called “the gospel of barnabus”?
Muslims like this because it (unsurprisingly) contradicts the gospel message. BTW, the injil isn’t a book that floated down to Jesus from the sky, the injil (gospel) is the message contained in the whole bible, old and new testaments.
Just in case you argue the “injil” was corrupted. What are the 8 main versions? I have 23 versions so far, funny, they all say the same thing! whether it be NASB, NIV, MKJV, KJV, etc
hey! I’ve been married three times, don’t knock this teaching ;)
maybe I’m suffering from religious rabies?
I totally agree, I am a bible believing christian and I would gladly invite you to church to tell the “christians” this.
Unfortunately, the mere act of reading the bible cover to cover still won’t make you a christian, there is a supernatural element involved, without which, no amount of bible reading will make a difference.
If your a priori assumption is “there is no supernatural”, then you won’t get it, unless the “hounds of heaven” are out to get you :) they certainly bit me in the ass!
What really disappointed me about the Bible is there’s no marriage in heaven. Quite sad…
5/5
All of the bibles, The Christian-Jewish Word of God.
All translate into very closely the same thing, just different words are used to portray the ever remaining meaning of the Word
Read the so-called BibleS from cover to cover to find out how funny they are LOL is that your sacred advice to the so-called Christians? but try to tell them which (Bible) they should read, because there are 8 different (main) versions of the so-called BibleS ,plus the so-called Bernaba Bible that comical myth, which the whole international (Christian) institutions fear it LOL have you ever read the funny garbage of the so-called Bernaba Bible?

Finally, I think there is a large group of people who just say they are Christians because they feel like they would be spoil sports if they didn’t at least play along.
When I was a kid, my best friend and I pretended there was a monster in his basement. Another friend once came over and started this big “There’s no such thing” tirade. Finally we admitted we were just fooling around. Sometimes I feel kind of like that no-fun kid for not playing make-believe with the others.

Also, there are probably tons of people who don’t think Jesus is anything more than a dude but say they are Christians because it just seems like the thing to say.
Others don’t want to say atheist because the word has a bad reputation. I think that is the real reason many people say agnostic, it is just because they are ashamed of the word atheist.
DP makes a great point here. I always wonder what the real number of atheists are; I would bet that it is much higher (in the US) then the 10-15% commonly reported. For example, many in the Bible Belt are probably too scared to say they don’t buy it even to an annonymous polltaker for fear of the community finding out and lynching him, or at least ostracizing him, which they would do.
the only proof Christians have is the bible , and the bible is nothing more historical book was written hundreds of years after Jesus Christ, watch this video :

why cant you accept it , Jesus Christ is the one of god prophets such as Adam,Moses,Aron,Jacob,Joseph and many others.
if he has miraculous birth that does not mean he is the son of god, take Adam and Eva as example .
Prof. Frank J. Tipler demonstrates that the Omega Point (i.e., God) is an unavoidable consequence of the known laws of physics. The only way to avoid this conclusion is to reject the known laws of physics (of which have been confirmed by every experiment to date), and hence reject empirical science. For that and the quantum gravity TOE, see F. J. Tipler, “The structure of the world from pure numbers,” Rep. Prog. Phys., Vol. 68, No. 4 (April 2005), pp. 897-964; available on Tipler’s website.
I agree that the warmongers and etatists should stop calling themselves Christians. I have read the bible. For my apodictic analysis of Christianity, see my article “Jesus Is an Anarchist,” Social Science Research Network (SSRN), 2009-10-17. As Albert Einstein wrote, “If one purges the Judaism of the Prophets and Christianity as Jesus taught it of all subsequent additions, especially those of the priests, one is left with a teaching which is capable of curing all the social ills of humanity.”
So, are u a christian?
