My opinion clearly does not matter, the concern I have is that tolerance should prevail and that everyone is entitled to a view. It would appear that you have some real religious hangups maybe that is due to a bad experience I don’t know. If you would like a constructive debate I am open to engage, perhaps dialogue is the way to peaceful living.

You know, as a Christian I am happy for everyone to have an opinion and certainly Ricky Gervais has got rich on the back of publishing his as comedy. While his views do not particularly phase me I find it interesting that there is nothing on his opinion of the Koran. If we are going to experience ‘comedy’ by taking the mince lets do it across the board.
Its only possible saving grace is that it is a representation of truth that requires further knowledge to interpret – like a code. Thats the only way one could argue it is anything other than fundamentally absurd.
Even Christians should accept there is no literal truth in Genesis. I don’t know the original Hebrew or the history of translation but it is clearly a mythology as opposed to an account of actual events. The snake, the tree of knowledge, garden of eden etc… it is an ancient folk tale of which there have been innumerable since the dawn of history.
Perhaps, but there’s a little bit more proof for the theory of evolution than for the theory of an almighty creator of everything. Come back when they dig up a fossil of an angel, or if your girlfriend turns out be your rib. Oh and if a bloke comes up to you and asks you to take your first born son up a hill and kill him, you just tell that guy to fuck off, ok?
