I purchased The Word of Promise: Complete Audio Bible MP3 in order to listen during my commute to work. However, it will not play in my 2008 vehicle. It will play in my computer and is really well done. If you want it for your car, don’t buy this one.

I find the Word of Promise to be a useful and thoughtful presentation of the Bible…at home. It’s great that they don’t rush-read through the text to keep some type of time-length goal. However, I have to report that the mp3 version I bought will not play on my auto’s mp3-compatible cd player. All other audio books I have play fine on it. All mp3 disks I create myself play fine on it (except mp3′s created from wav to mp3 using Nero). All mp3s I download from the web and put on disks play fine on it. But this…I cannot play it while commuting. 2007 F-150.

The Word comes alive in this audio set. I’ve listened to many hours of this set, and look forward to hearing the rest. If you are even considering getting an audio Bible, get this one. It is in a version that’s easily comprehendable (NKJV), but more accurately translated than the NIV. Best gift I’ve given to myself in quite some time! I have put it in my CD changer and let it play on low all night. When I wake in the night, I’m hearing the Bible. When I wake up in the morning, it’s the first thing that welcomes the new day. I have it in my car. Just wish I could have it in my office!

I am very pleased with The Word of Promise: Complete Audio Bible. I keep one CD in the auto and the others are played at home. I used it to lead a monthly Bible study in Joshua; the group was very impressed as we listened to the waters of the Jordan River rush back within its banks after the Israelites had crossed over. By closing ones eyes, one may visualize what the Scriptures reveal. The background music, the sound effects and the superb performance of the actors make this an exceptional presentation of the Word of God.
